Since there’s no soccer and since we’re all gonna be stuck at home for the foreseeable future, I’m trying out something new with the podcast. I like to think you guys are all thoughtful people, and so this might be unnecessary, but you literally can’t be too careful right now: I know not everyone is able to lock down and take social distancing to the extreme, but if you can, PLEASE DO IT. Watch this if you haven’t. We’re quite literally all in this together, and the ultimate form of solidarity right now is to stay far apart.
As for that new thing with the podcast: I’m gonna watch old soccer games and then talk about them with someone else who watched the game. I’ll let you guys know what game is coming up so those who want to watch before listening may be able to do so. Also, please send suggestions for games you want to see (hear?) featured on upcoming episodes.
The first game on the docket: France–Brazil in the quarterfinals of the 2006 World Cup. You can find most of the games we’ll be talking about here. Stay safe, everyone.
The Galacticos era Real vs Fergie's United.
I’d love to hear Italy v France 2006, Belgium Japan 2018, Brazil Belgium 2018
